ISP Tuning

The image signal processor (ISP) of MLSoC Modalix turns the raw data of a camera sensor into the image that an application receives. Getting frames from a camera and getting good images from it are two separate steps. This page says what tuning is, which cameras are already tuned, and how to get the tuning guide.

Not yet validated on hardware

This page summarizes the other camera pages of this site and the kernel source for platform release 2.1.3. The camera and ISP owners have not reviewed it yet.

Cameras That Are Already Tuned

The platform release is tuned for the cameras in Supported MIPI Cameras: the Arducam IMX477, the e-con Systems IMX568 and IMX678, and the Leopard Imaging AR0234 and OG05C10. With one of these cameras, you do not need to tune the ISP to get started.

When You Need Tuning

  • You use a sensor that is not in the list above. See Integrate Your Own Camera.
  • You use a supported sensor with a different lens or camera module.
  • The image quality of a supported camera does not meet the needs of your application.

Get the ISP Tuning Guide

The Modalix Camera & ISP Tuning Guide describes how to tune the ISP for a camera. It is available on request. See Reference Documents.
