Sentinel documentation
Sentinel collects Modalix DevKit telemetry in a background daemon, writes an atomic JSON cache, and renders that cache through terminal reports. These pages explain what every panel reports, where each value comes from, how it is calculated, and what its limitations are.
Operations-view panels
| Panel | Documentation | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Overview | Overview panel | Headline thermal, power, CPU, memory, MLA-memory, storage, and network health. |
| Thermal | Thermal panel | On-die RTSN/PVT sites and board-level hardware-monitor readings. |
| Power | Power panel | PMBus rail power, totals, session average/peak, and collector health. |
| System | System panel | Aggregate/per-core CPU, load average, Linux memory, MLA allocations, EV74 CMA memory, and processes. |
| Storage/Net | Storage and network panel | eMMC/NVMe capacity and I/O plus aggregate network traffic. |
Reports and collection behavior
- Measurement model explains collector cadence, cache history, chart semantics, thresholds, stale data, unavailable values, and reset behavior.
- Reports and JSON export documents the cache schema and the
table, export, sensors, andstatuscommands. - Local agent API documents live reads and trace control over the daemon's Unix socket.
- Capturing and comparing runs documents persistent checkpoints, the Compare Runs tab, retention, and CSV/JSON exports.
Peripherals
Sentinel also lists the cameras and microphones connected to the board. The Local agent API describes the catalog and how to refresh it; each device type has its own page:
- USB cameras (V4L2)
- MIPI CSI-2 cameras
- Microphones (ALSA)
- Board camera configuration: the model, camera overlays, and configured and supported sensors
- Adding a device type for contributors
